Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was an athletically inclined child and developed a passion to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after her first attempt. Felix has graduated from high school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she went to the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world winner in the 200m at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed among the top three athletes in her respective events.
